Default tell me about arlington heights

We are moving to the area and are considering many different locations. My husband will be working in Buffalo Grove and we are focusing on Barrington. However, I don't want to limit ourselves without checking out other areas-it's been suggested that we look at Arlington Heights-what can you tell me about it?? We have 2 school aged children (age 9 and 6). Thanks for your help-

Good schools,MUCH growth,a lively "downtown" area (larger then Barringtons)and on the metra line (train) to the city. It has a great medical/hospital facility. If you prefer a little more open spaces(larger yards etc),this may not be your place, but it is a nice communitiy IMHO
