I think you're mistaking "left leaning" liberals with door mats to be walked over. Helping someone is one thing, letting people take advantage of you is another. There are already quite a few "less privileged" families that send their kids to OP schools because of things like section 8 housing and other forms of low income housing in the village. I wonder how may "less privileged" kids get to go to schools in other affluent suburbs? Or even live in them? When you start comparing the numbers to other wealthy suburbs, who is accepting of the "less privileged" and who is not becomes pretty clear.
