This is nothing new to me.Slavery existed all around the world and every culture in different ways.The whites in the Appalachians are really direct descendants of white slavery or "indentured servants".Theirs is an unfortunate legacy as well.Many of those people are in extremely low poverty,low education,and drug problem is rampant.That area is ignored almost as the inner city.

You bringing this up as if its to excuse slavery against blacks "IN this COUNTRY" and the ill effects as if their is a correlation is crazy.Like I said before,ITS nOT JUST SLAVERY!!It's INSTITUTIONAL Racism that was imbeded by the use of segregation practices like Jim Crow.THose white indentured servants could break their chains inventually and merged into society very easily by virtue of their color.

Why is it not taught?DUH.For a ruling Majority that has had a number of years of unbridled prosperity to then subject to cry racism when every advantage over at leat 200 years to this day is theirs',it would not, cannot hold water!!The same reason You never learn about Black members of the Medici Family,Thomas Jefferson and many other founding fathers black children,Black inventors in America that never made a cent off their inventions because patents were denied to African Americans,black ancestory in the Royal family,Nubia or Sudan the blacks that were the creators of the Pyramids,etc......

I don't know you or your agenda but it suggests that people of African- American Ancsestry or African, are inferior in your mind.You can think what you want but when you look for the answer you want,instead of all those answers provided,well you can draw your own narrow minded conclusions.Maybe you should take some African History classes and maybe then you will be an intellectual you wanna be as opposed to coming across as no more than an uniformed ignorant "race snob".People all across the world have led,fell ,died and contributed greatly to the world all people live in today.We have the tools we need to build onto Humanity and continue to progress with the knowledge that all of our forefathers gave us to suceed through the future.When one race tries to claim superiority,by virtue of its claims,they are exposed as nothing more than "waring hatemongers" whose grasp of other races historical contributions,will by their ignorance lead to their demise.

It's brought up solely to show the truth. It's brought up because anti-White complainers want to hide the truth. It's brought up because it's not taught to our children.

Hmm, there aren't any high-profile European players in this club. In fact, I believe there's just one guy from Europe (Poland) on the team. The Fire are one of the better teams in the league, though, so you may enjoy seeing them. MLS Playoffs begin tonight and the Fire are favored over the New England Revolution.

Definitely see the Bulls! And the Cubs (sorry Sox fans) and da Bears if you can. I'm not a fan of any of these teams, but I can tell you it'll be quite an experience. Good luck!

many native Americans would STRONGLY disagree with you. Not to minimize the plight of African Americans. Native Americans were exterminated, purposely starved and forced to undergo long marches as part of forced relocation. Now I know some nations (tribes) are doing well becasue of casinos, but many like the Lakota living on Pine Ridge in South Dakota are living a far worse standard of living than many inner city African Americans. 2 wrongs don't make a right, just trying to make sure the perspective is accurate.

you are right.i meant to say with the exception of Native American.However even they at least got land and self governance.(not that i want that for blacks,).Its just the gesture of even if it does,nt work.Native Americans in the Midwestern states are really looked down upon because of the anabolism problem.Its a tragedy.Its not about what happened then its about fixing the problem now.
