I'm taking my daughter on an overnight Woodfield shopping trip later this month and she wants to dress up to go to a restaurant. Any suggestions?

There is Mortons, Davis Street Fish Market, Shaws Crab house and of course Benehanas. None right in the mall but very close. In the mall is "Cheesecake Factory" but I wouldnt classify that upscale.

OH -- what about that fondue place... The Melting Pot.

that would be a great mother-daughter date.

or, not quite schaumburg [about 5-10min east] ... but Pappadaux [cajun seafood] outstanding.

Woodfire -- on Higgins, just west of Meacham. [steak, but great HUGE salads too]

nanannie -- i was gonna ask where the fish market is .... i found their web site and i bet that was the old "Chicago Prime " building. [is that where it is?] looks great though. I'll have to add that to my list of "Must Tries"

edited to add....

i didnt see the maps they had on their site.... nope, ,it's not where i thought it was ... but north of Golf, not Higgens.

Its the same side of the street, and a few blocks from Mortons off Meacham. Its in the same space as Pete Millers steak house.

Default Entourage

Skye,

Check out Entourage for an upscale dining experience. They have an excellent brunch on Sundays.

The other poster meant to say Wildfire, not Woodfire. It is a little better than Outback or Lonestar and looks like 1940s on the inside. I like the place.

PappaDeux I would rate as okay. It is Cajun seafood. Shaws is much better. Mortons is good too.

It isn't the fanciest, but I like Maggianos. The Brazilian steakhouse in the mall is excellent, though not cheap.

Have fun during your trip.

thanks Humboldt.... Yes, WildFire.

we had a Woodfire [more of a gyro joint, but it closed ... i always mixed them up]

as for Pappadeaux ... i guess it all depends on if you like Cajun and Seafood.
I love the place... and I didnt care for Shaws... so i guess YMMV.

I LOVE Pappadeaux!! But I may have the pickiest 8 year old in the world and she won't appreciate the experience.

I think we may go with Morton's because oddly enough she likes steak.

THANKS EVERYONE!

Also not exactly "fancy" but Maggiano's or Bahama Breeze are in the area, too.
