Naperville #1 Again
Naperville Public Library for the 9th time in 8 years gets ranked #1 in the nation - for efficiency and busyness by the American Library Association.
The Naperville Library is comprised of three buildings to service the people of Naperville. The Nichols Library which was originally dedicated in 1898 and located in the heart of downtown Naperville on Washington St, is now located a few blocks west at 200 W Jefferson. Naper Blvd Library was the second location erected as a satellite to service the ever growing population is located at 2035 S Naper Blvd. Finally, the most recent addition the 95th St Library was added what seems like yesterday, in 2003. This building is located at 3015 Cedar Glade Drive and services the SW quadrant of Naperville. In addition to the three buildings the library conducts business through it's website Naperville Public Library......... which had over 1.3 million clicks over a year.
Just one more reason to LOVE Naperville

Here we go again.
Seriously, Naperville is not overly priced or that stuck up. Sure there are some people who are, but spend time in Hinsdale, Lake Forest, Barrington, Oak Brook, etc, and Naperville will not feel stuck up at all.

I agree, the Naperville library is great. I like the downtown location but parking is a beast. I would certainly agree to the title of being a busy library!

Now that's a cool award worth bragging about! Chicago are is fortunate to have so many outstanding libraries. I know the libraries in Skokie, Evanston, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg and Palatine are excellent. And there are many more throughout the area. I had business associaters visit from suburban Boston and they commented on how many large, suburban libraries they saw here which is uncommon back home.

I'm curious why anyone would consider Naperville expensive or stuck up. Its not that upscale a town and the people are pretty normal.

Its is quite expensive and there are some snobs, but overall most of the people are completely down to earth. As I mentioned earlier, the hardcore snob factor is not evident in Naperville, but rather in places like Oak Brook, Hinsdale, Lake Forest, etc.

I can't speak to the other cities, but I don't see any hardcore snob factor in Lake Forest either. Having a nice home/car/etc doesn't make someone a snob. Lake Foresters tend to be very private people. Not the same thing as snobs.

Of course I cant speak for the whole town, but all one has to do is sit in their little town square and people-watch for awhile. Be prepared to stare into nostrils as a lot of people there walk with their noses so high in the air that its amazing they can see where theyre going.
