It would be very difficult to find a home, where you would want to raise kids, for that price.

for homes for sale, try Realtor.com. You'll want to narrow it down by town.

Thanks for the website.
and those prices are just an estimate.
Theres going to be three people paying bills
me, my mom, and my step-dad.

from what i know here in arizona
my mom makes about $750 every two weeks.
my step-dad makes around $900 a week
and well me im 17 years old so i guess it depends on the min. wage over there. but here i make around $250 every two weeks.
What is the min wage in chicago for a teen my age?

Well judging by those numbers do you think well do fine owning a $1000/month home in a chicago suburb?

Hey just so you know people don't talk about owning a house solely on how much they can pay per month--a lot factors in to your monthly payment---mainly how much down your putting on the house + the yearly real estate taxes and the insurance you need for the house. So effectively throwing out the "$750-$1000" is not enough information to give you an accurate answer.

I wasn't asking for insurance and all that.

I just want to know for now if it'll be possible to find a home in my price range.
Thanks..

I thought he was talking about renting. Then I saw the owning part.

Basic math --> for a $1011/month payment on a $225K home @6.5%, you'd need $95,000 down payment. (Well, math from a mortgage calculator at least)

And if you're talking about renting a 3br, that's going to cost at least $1200 or more to live somewhere that's not in a rathole. At my complex, they charge $1350- but we're in a newer community, so stuff is decent.

Hmmm..

you would be needing to pay anywere from $1000+/month?

Well whats the minimum wage up there in chicago?

Here in phoenix its around $6.50
