Pre-schools in Glen Ellyn/Wheaton area
I live in Glen Ellyn and have a two year-old. Can someone recommend a pre-school based on personal experience? I am open to pretty much anything. Thanks very much in advance.

I have personal experience with the preschool programs at First Pres. Church in Wheaton (on Ellis Ave just south of Harrison) and Toddlers Campus at the Baptist Church (On Main St. just north of Harrison). I LOVE both of them. If I had to pick one I'd choose the program at First Pres. They have a two year old, three year old and four year old program. Super nice teachers, excellent curriculum, great communication, convenient drop-off/pick-up procedure, and the price is fair! Toddlers Campus has a GREAT Pre-K program that I'd recommend. - perfect for those who just miss going to kindergarten or those who are being held back a year.
Now since you are in Glen Ellyn I'll tell you that I know several people who sent their kids to The Ark at the Convenent church just north of College Ave. I don't have any personal experience myself but they were very pleased.
If you need contact information and specific teacher information for First Presbyterian I'd be happy to offer that to you via direct messaging.

I went to Gary methodist right on Main Street and College Ave and it was great. Plus its right in the downtown area and across from a nice park.

Hi, not sure if you've already found a preschool, though I wanted to recommend Creme de la Creme. They are in Warrenville, so not sure if that's a bit too far for you? I personally think Creme is by far the best daycare/preschool in the state. The tuition is a bit pricey, but well worth the education and experience.

My son went to College of Dupage preschool. Its accredited and was very good. Later he also went to Kindercare in Wheaton which was okay as well but he hated it. I think he got to the point of hating day care but really it was not that bad. He is now 22 and a Finance Major at DePaul U. so it did not hurt him at all.

As someone mentioned, Creme de la Creme in Warrenville is supposed to be wonderful. Our son went to Chesterbrook in Wheaton and we were very impressed with it.

Ymca
We lived in Wheaton for almost two years and found the daycare at the B.R. Ryall YMCA in Glen Ellyn to be excellent, especially since everything else around there was churchy.

I'm not sure if the OP is looking for a preschool or a daycare. Most of the preschools in the area are 3 day a week programs for 2.5 hours. Places like Chesterbrook and Creme are more daycare programs that sometimes offer accredited kindergarten programs. If the OP is looking for daycare there are lots in the area, I just got the impression she was looking for preschool.

That's true, daycare and preschool can be two different things, but if you send your child to a daycare these days they include teaching the alphabet, names of colors, simple counting, writing your name, etc., and what they cover can depend on which age group you are looking at, also. The nice thing about the YMCA is that they have a kiddie-sized wading pool and a gym, so there are indoor physical ed games the kids can play, not just sitting in a classroom.
