Default Elk Grove Village/Arlington Heights
I've got a good value price on a hotel near O'Hare, but it will only tell me the general area before I purchase it (Hotwire). Am I safe with getting a hotel (3 3 1/2 star rating) in the Elk Grove/Arlington Heights area?

Yes, both are head and shoulders above Franklin Park that you inquired about earlier. Arlington Heights is better of the two.
You shouldn't have problems driving to Chicago as long as you're not in the middle of rush hour.
