True, you're right.

And, i am going totally off topic here, but where I did see the guy blatantly blow through the light, a couple of strip mall entrances were not facing the road AT ALL. It was really bizarre, because the back of the building was facing North Ave while the back was facing its own little isolated parking lot - and the main entrance was on North, which eliminates the idea that it had anything to do with any sort of cross street... I've just never seen that before.

Lack of sidewalks= bad planning, bad zoning and bad engineering. Why promote a walkable neighborhood? We can all hop in our car to everywhere...........then we wonder why obesity levels are skyrocketing.

Why should there be sidewalks in a suburb if there is nothing close enough to walk to?

So kids, and adults, can safely walk/bike/scooter to the park, to school or to their friend's house. I DO NOT want my kids doing this in the street and taking that risk!!

Up here in Gurnee the village has just added 3 red light cameras this past week----Grand and Hunt Club, Dilleys and Grand, Grand and Milwaukee. Watch out if your going to Six Flags or Gurnee Mills. With the economy tanking----we thought it would be a good idea to replace the sales tax revenue with red light revenue

I was talking about the main roads... Not the streets in sub-divisons.

They just added a few in Lake Zurich. And yesterday I nearly caused an accident, because the light was turning yellow and I slammed on the breaks because I didn't want to get a ticket, not thinking of the person tailgating behind me. They probably cause more accidents than prevent them. I vote revenue.

So nobody EVER needs to walk along a busy road?! Sidewalks are necessary so people do not have to co-mingle with cars. The developers should pay for it when new neighborhoods go in. When main roads are re-done, sidewalks and seperated bike lanes should be mandatory. The bike lanes can be seperated by plastic poles as they do in Madison, WI. How can we succesfully encourage people to walk and bicycle if these activities cannot be done safely?!

This one is for all them people in wheeling IL, watch out for those new red light cameras out on palatine/wheeling and milwaukee/dunddee intersections. Thanx too my lovely wife, Ive' just received three tickets in the mail for 100 bucks each. Aperently she forgot that u have to make a complete stop and i mean complete stop before turning red on palatine and wheeling. Hopefully I got u in time to avoid one.
