It'll probably be on target, but that will be enough to kill the afternoon commute for the drivers.
But for me, it won't be a problem. I walked to work today and walking home won't be a problem.
Good luck drivers.

Well, I'm glad to report that though there was deep snow and slush on the roads (South burbs), folks were in general driving safely and taking their time. That makes winter driving lots more fun!

Got about 5" tonight, which was right on target. Theyre saying maybe another inch overnight. But tomorrow is sunny and warmer, and this powdery, light snow might melt off quickly. We'll see...

OK -- I'll have to say too that they were on target. I havent been outside since 5pm, when i last shoveled the powder... maybe 5-6" and i just checked the radar... there is a lil blue area over the Iowa border that may get here over night... we shall see.
Next wave on Thurs-into Friday... though we may get sleet/rain/snow.

we got nothing over night, and by viewing the snow.... like where you can see where the snow blowers cleared a path... we maybe got 3-4" total.

OK -- this next wave is supposed to hit later this afternoon.
at first when i read it, a few days ago, and read 0.5-0.75" of ICE, i was freaking out ... as i HATE ice. [well, i'm sure everyone does]
but i just read the 'alert' now [the lil red icon for desk top weather]
and for my area... Chicago North - westward to DeKalb ... 6-9" of snow.
As long as there is no ice, and nice powder.... bring it on.
maybe i'll get to fire up the snow blower.... I prefer the shovel for the physical exercise...

Anyone have a prediction on when the snow will start in the NW burbs? The Weather Channel said 7 pm but I 'm wondering if I should cancel a 5-6 class.
