Hi there... I am new to this. My girlfriend is wanting me to research the Chicagoland area for her. She is an irish catholic and her soon to be husband is a lovely nigerian man. They are wanting to reside in the suburbs. Where will they be happy and at peace without the racists coming to there door? Any suggestions? Please help.

Evanston or Skokie on the north side. Or Oak Park on the west. All are bordering the city and within an easy commute to downtown by public transit. Safe and quiet(with the exception of certain spots in east-northeast Oak Park) and nobody should bother you there because of race.

Oak Park and Evanston don't hold the gold key to the you-know-what on racial tolerance, despite popular opinion. There are several areas you could live in and not be bothered. Where in Chicagoland do they want to live geographically? Where are they going to be working/going to school?
