Relocating to Rolling Meadows
I am in the process of relocating to Rolling Meadows. I have been there once for an interview, so I have no idea, what it is. I have to ask several questions before getting there, please.
1. I need a one bedroom apartment for the interim. Do they come eqwipped with furniture, dishwasher, etc.?
2. I understand the better apartments are located in Shaumburg, right?
3. Do they have Internet access?
3. Where do I find a Meijer store, Sams Club and simular stores, please?
Thank you.

Rolling Meadows has a lot of retail. Sam's Club and Meijer are right across the street from each other. There are many large apartment complexes in that area too, though most are not going to be unfurnished. The furnished places could be considerably more expensive. Surrounding towns include Arlington Heights, Mt.Prospect, DesPlaines, as well as Schaumburg. Don't really think there are any hard and fast rules about where the "better" apartment are, depends what you want. Nicer complexes cost more, less amenities in the building and it rents for less.

Chet everett,
Thank you very much.
In regards of apartments, I need one room, actually. I would like it to be in the safe environment, Internet connection is a must. Some furniture is OK. I dont know Spanish language, so I prefer English speaking neighbours. Price wise: I am planning to buy a home in this area in 2009, so I shall stay in this apartment for several months only (price is not that important).
Thanks,

Believe me there are PLENTY of native English speaker in Rolling Meadows apartment buildings. Monthly rentals are harder to come by. If you are serious about having very modest needs you might do OK in an extended stay hotel set-up. Not sure I would encourage shopping for a house immeadiately, but there are worse things you could do...

Yes, I am serious. Would you recommend an extended stay hotel for me, please?

If you want only to go cheaply you could bunk down at the Extended Stay America in Rolling Meadows, but it has a reputation of getting overused.
The various "suite" places in Schaumburg cost more, but have a higher standard. SpringHill Suites is supposedly the best value, I have never stayed. From work we do use the Hyatt Summerfield and the Marriot Residence Inn. If you can find a discount ahead of time the price might be worth it.

Thank you.
My next problem is "shopping for a house". It will be a home for two people: me and my wife, we are in the 60th. I am looking for a three bedroom, $150,000 to $250,000. I can drive up to 30 min to work in Rolling Meadows. It would be nice to get a park to walk close to home. What would you recommend, please?
Thanks.

You should be able to find a home in Rolling Meadows within your price range. There are quite a few ranch homes (most without basements however -- a little unusual in the midwest) that are very reasonably priced. A few homes come on the market under $200K (usually bank-owned, short sales, or those needing updating) and there is usually a good selection of homes in the $200s.
