Default Boulder Hill

What is the long term plan for Boulder Hill? Is it going to eventually become a town/city or is it eventually going to be annexed into Montgomery/Oswego/Aurora? Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I know someone who lives there and she mentioned that there is a possibility that Montgomery is looking into swallowing it up. Now, I dont know how much truth there is to that, but its just what she heard.

Since Boulder Hill has almost no commercial property and as a result no sales tax revenue, most surrounding towns are reluctant to annex it. I lived there for 25 years and while there are very nice areas some of it is becoming run down. The cost of policing, installing lighting, etc would cause real estate tax increases that would cause another Boston Tea Party.

boulder hill would never be able to be its own municipality. Since it is sandwiched in an area that could go either oswego or montgomery, it would depend on the long-term plans of either of those communities. Also, if there was a proposal for the unincorporated area to become annexed to one of those communities, the residents would have to vote on it. We went through a similar situation in sugar grove, with the unincorporated area of prestbury. they declined to be annexed to sugar grove even though they receive sugar grove water and sewer. their addresses used to be aurora, however, their addresses are now sugar grove, due to the changes made by the post office. it did not effect them as being residents of sugar grove though. they are just kane county residents from sugar grove township.
