Hi, I'm new here on these forums. For several months, I have really enjoyed learning about the area around me. This area seems so diverse. Some places like Hickory Hills (where I live) are wonderful. About twenty minutes from my house, there are things I don't want to be around.
I really love the Chicago suburbs but I am really happy to be away from the southeast ones. Not all of them are bad. I have heard good things about Blue Island (and some bad). I'll tell you about where I have been later.
I do want to answer some questions for "out of towners" and those from other parts of the area. I have seen some users ask about Oak Lawn and Evergreen Park. I have seen some users ask about Blue Island. I really look forward to helping you since I love to travel when I get the chance.

Welcome. Funny you bring up the southeast ones...welcome to my world. I was born in Blue Island but that was long ago...the town seems diverse with a lot of pretty latinas.

I think we'll be great friends. I brought up the southeast suburbs for a few reasons. One, I love the scenery along 294. A lot of large, earthy, mature trees and such. I ride it every Thursday to my job. I am aware that south of the Cal-Sag, the areas are far different (in a bad way).

Two, I was a cross country runner in high school. I loved to travel and meet people. I have been to places like Olympia Fields, Thornton, Lincoln Way, etc. So, I know a good deal about the south suburbs.

Anyway, thank you so much for the feedback and I hope we can carry on some threads. If you didn't know, one of my hobbies would include hand drawing homes. I would like to post some of my drawings.

Yeah, i'm sure you can post your drawings in the right forum. i'd be interested in seeing them provided you didn't draw them with crayons. Just joking...

I know I can post them. A user posted pics of the suburbs in one thread. Why can't I do that with my pictures? So, I will scan, save, and upload them to the forum.

If you're wondering about how I draw, I have adopted my ideas from cookcountyassessor.com and magazines such as Harmon Homes. Thanks to changes at local Jewel and local Wal-Mart, I can no longer find these magazines. I know the Sam's Club in Hodgkins has them. However, the listings are for the near west and western suburbs.

Anyway, it is great to have a friend on this forum; especially one on my first day at the forum on Wednesday.
