Default Conservative suburbs

Although Chicago is known to be more liberal than the suburbs, we have learned from this past presisential election, that many suburbs are no longer conservative. Where can I still find a clean, conservative suburb within 45 minutes of the city? Is Elmhurst more conservative than liberal. Did Elmhurst favor Obama or Mccain in the election. What about Itasca or even Elmwood Park? Please respond.

DuPage County is your best bet. Wheaton is hands-down the most conservative suburb. It is clean, conservative, church- and family-oriented, has a nice little downtown. It has the Billy Graham Center and Wheaton College. The only other one I can think of would possibly be Lemont, the area is still heavily Catholic and conservative.

Default A Good Distinction

I agree with the above poster. Don't let that get you down. DuPage and other conservative areas are lovely. I would rather be in a good, clean, Republican area than a run down, imbalanced Democratic one.
I live in Hickory Hills. Yes, it is indeed heavily Democratic like its neighbors (Oak Lawn, Evergreen Park, Bridgeview, Justice, Bedford Park, Burbank, Palos Hills, and Willow Springs). However, my area is "left of center." I can live with that. I have for 21 years. I like it.

Here's a list of Suburbs in my opinion that are at opposite ends of the spectrum and toward center. The below are suburbs in my part of the Chicago metro area. I haven't forgotten about the others. I'll post them separately. Correct me at any time. I am not a supposed know it all like many "out of towners." Red or blue indicates either heavily democrat or republican. Black indicates nearly "center" communities.

Democrat:
Alsip
Crestwood
Midlothian
Oak Forest
Markham
Posen
Blue Island
Calumet Park
Riverdale
Dotlon
Burnham
Calumet City
South Holland
Lansing
Thornton
Homewood/Flossmore
Hazel Crest
East Hazel Crest
Country Club Hills
Olympia Fields
Mattesson
Chicago Heights
Ford Heights
South Chicago Heights
Steger
Crete
Monee
Beecher

Republican:
Palos Park
Orland Park
Orland Hills
Tinley Park
New Lenox
Anything southwest of the DuPage/Cook border.

Elmhurst no. There are many Hispanics there now and by and large they tend to be Democrats.

Elmwood Park is conservative to a point. (Long story)

Itasca would be the top choice out of the three.

What Elmwood Park crap-you are leaving us hanging.

And I truly do not believe that Hispanics are all over Elmhurst. Where are your facts. York High School has such a small population of Hispanics and that info. was just found on school finder.com, which is updated yearly.
