Lansing still sucks and is getting worse. I know the area fairly well so I am not just saying this to spite you.

Many blacks are law abiding and a few are not, though blacks are 17 times more likely to be involved in violent crime than their white counterparts.

I don't know your position on race but I guess I can understand how black people might be offended when people generalize and say they are the problem. Still, I am not going to make excuses for the bad behavior of a disproportionate percentage of poor blacks.

OK, let me break it down, Avenger. It is a fact that there are a lot of black men in jail. The stats prove this. It is a fact that most child molesters are white men. The stats bear this out as well.

It is not a fact to say that many U.S.-born blacks are not hard-working and decent. That is a generalization. There is no stat that backs up your statement. Most U.S.-born blacks have jobs. The vast majority of U.S.-born blacks do not commit crimes.

The stats you posted are horrible, but when put in context with the entire black population of the U.S. (40,000,000), do not mean that most black people in this country are good-for-nothing, crime committing, welfare leeches.

It is disgusting how some people act on here.

I had some great black teachers in grammar school and high school.Actually I had a higher percentage of good black teachers vs. horrible black teachers in contrast to a higher percentage of horrible white teachers vs. good white teachers.

There are more than a few wonderful black people I have hung out,worked with,or talked to in my life.

Yet just because I post stats that are accepted by many groups (including minority empowerment groups) to show a troll poster in here was not correctly stating the facts (and telling the whole story) I am vilified as well as made out to be a closet prejudiced person or "racist."

I never said this was the case. All I said was a far higher percentage of U.S. born blacks are like this than for example Caribbean born blacks that come to the U.S.

I never said "most" U.S. born blacks are garbage.

To break this argument down on a smaller scale, what percentage of section 8 vouchers in chicago are used by blacks?

my thing is, it is pretty much common sense here. I don't care if you are purple and green, if you happen to have more criminals in your family and friend circles, you are going to be desensitized to that type of behavior. Thus, your standards will be lowered. Based off the crime stats, which are undeniable truths, certain groups will not be as alarmed by violent crimes, unemployment, and poor education compared to other groups. This begs the question, is the enviornment to blame or does it come back to genes? A little bit of both?

If reference to section 8 vouchers in Chicago:

Blacks 86 percent
Hispanics 11 percent
Whites 3 percent

Now understand that Chicago's population is roughly 1/3 black, 1/3 white, 1/3 hispanic.

Now, feel free to try to debate these stats. This is an argument that has already been covered.
