What is Gurnee like?
My boyfriend is from Gurnee and does not remember that much about it. He moved to Phoenix when he was in high school and does not remember that much other than a Six Flags was near him. I was wondering cause we are thinking about moving in the next couple of years to the Chicago suburbs. We really don't want to raise kids in Scottsdale. Arizona is not the greatest place to have kids. Since my boyfriend is no help if someone that lives there can tell me what its like. I not originally from Scottsdale. I am from Jackson Wyoming. I work for the airlines after a year training in Washington DC we are going to move to Chicago area. I have never been to Chicago but I have heard that it is amazing.
Thank You for any info!!!!

Gurnee isn't that bad and have very affordable homes compared to the south or western burbs. Lots of shopping and places to dine. If I didn't work in the southern burbs Gurnee would def be on our list. More bang for the buck.

I lived there 5 years ago and the traffic then was horrible; I can only imagine how bad it is now. If you are planning on working in or near Chicago, then you need to live MUCH closer in unless you like to spend 3-4 hrs commuting every day.

Traffic will be much better now that people will refuse to shop at the mall b/c of safety concerns and people being videotaped while driving. I know I won't be driving in Gurnee.

If you are commuting to O'Hare or Midway for your job, I would move closer in. Gurnee is OK. There are MANY nice suburbs to choose from, closer to the airports. Gurnee has grown a lot.

Let us know how much you can afford. Traffic is a nightmare up that way.

No LC BOY is mad he/she got caught by the Gurnee red light cameras. I'm glad we snagged your pic! Slow down!
