Can anyone suggest any other options

Build your own! Concrete blocks and boards are great material for construction. Old shredded news paper for fill, and fabric material from a donation box to cover your great new multicolor couch. Sweet.

I have found some interesting values at the Carson's outlet and the Crate & Barrel Outlet across the street from it. A little bit further south, on NY St. there is also a Macy's furniture outlet.

Now when you go to any of these places you have to know what you are looking at -- demo's from the regular show rooms, stuff damaged upon delivery, and 'customer returns'. If the discount is big enough, and the damage is to the surface / finish you can do fine. If the guts are busted up it probably doesn't make sense unless you are paying "below lumber" value and have the skills to rebuild the thing...

The Crate & Barrel Outlet in Naperville is great. We went to one of the other outlets once, I can't remember if it was Macy's or Carson's, and they were selling broken, beat up furniture that was way overpriced.

Toms Price Furniture in Wheaton (downtown) and their outlet in Bloomingdale, right next to costco, on Army Trail Rd. The main store is having their floor sample sale right now and GREAT deals on high quality furniture. Ikea, is junk so not sure what you consider high quality. TP carries fine furnishings of many brands. Also, Walter Smith has some nice stuff, although a little too "their own brand" for me. They do have an outlet on Army Trail as well, and it's about 2 miles east of the Toms Price outlet, just east of Bloomindale Rd. Toms Price outlet is west of Gary Ave. Hope you take a look at all 3 of these suggestions. You won't be disappointed. Take care.

If you are into finish it yourself. There is a small furniture store on route 25 north 4 miles from north avenue (rt. 64) in st. charles area. Name: Custom Furniture. Big wooden man in the front. They have a lot of finish it yourself and save which is hard to locate these days. As well as really nice finished furniture which is $$. ALL is solid wood though which is nice. No particle board stuff so it could be considered long term furniture - not dirt cheap but good stuff. We have bought several pieces from them over the years.

Your shtik is getting old. Either contribute something useful to these boards or find somewhere else to practice your "comedy" stylings.
