Well, I meant that the kids go to a good high school in Riverside Brookfield. Lyons Township High School is in La Grange, by the way--and it's also a pretty good high school. Kids from Lyons don't even go there.

Yeah I know where LT is located- some Brookfield areas are permitted to attend Lyons Township High School and plenty of people from La Grange Park and Lyons attend that school.

Students from Lyons attend R-B or Morton West.

unless things have changed since I graduated (2003)- the only students that were permitted to go to Riverside-Brookfield were students from the towns of Riverside, most of Brookfield, North Riverside, a small portion of La Grange Park (near Yena Park), and the "Beverly" area of Broadview. If things have changed since then I stand corrected-- As far as the students who live in Lyons I personally know a few who went to both LT and Morton East- however most do filter into Berwyn's Morton West HS.

I live in Brookfield and the zoo doesn't have any noticeable impact on the town. It doesn't bring any visitors to local businesses, since they just see a forest preserve on their way in and out. I have only met one local who actually works as a zookeeper. The town itself is a quiet commuter suburb. It's got a nice neighborhood feel to it, but there are some shortcomings, namely, child care and good restaurants. Also, the main drag, Ogden, is rather ugly. On the other hand, I'm glad I don't live in a typical isolated American suburb with the bleached blonde soccer moms cutting you off in their SUVs.

Perhaps things have changed, but no one from Lyons goes to Lyons Township High School now. From the LTHS website:

"LT serves a community composed of the villages of LaGrange, Western Springs, Burr Ridge, Countryside, Hodgkins, Indian Head Park, LaGrange Highlands, LaGrange Park, McCook, and parts of Brookfield and Willow Springs."
