Default Looking for a safe hotel near northwestern

I've been trying to find a hotel near the Northwestern campus that isn't too expensive, (hopefully less than 100 a night?) and I was wondering if anyone had a suggestion. So far I found Exel Inns, which is about 4 miles south of the university near the intersection of W Touhy Ave and N California Ave. Does anyone know if that's a safe place? Thanks.

The area you mention where Excel Inns is located is just fine for safety. Also, on Orbitz, they list 2 hotels in Skokie which would be easy access to NU and are in fine locations for under $100.
