Hispanics living in Plainfield
Hello, this is for any Hispanics who live in Plainfield. I am planning in maybe moving there with my family. I have a 3 year old boy and a 3 month old baby girl. What are your experiences so far? Are they positive or negative? The last thing I would ever want to do is risk my family.
Also, I am a teacher who works in Chicago and am planning on keeping my job. Is the traffic really that bad? How long will it take me?
Thank u for your time.

Hi, I work close to Midway Airport. We'd like to relocate to Plainfield because it seems like we can get more house for the money. Home prices in Chicago are way too high for my liking.

Have you tried looking at housing near the airport itself? It's actually pretty cheap by Chicago standards, and a lot of the area around the airport is clean and safe.

Housing near the airport in NOT cheap. I grew up in that area and my father still lives over there. You cannot get anything below $280,000-300,000 and they are older homes. I work near Chicago Ridge but I am getting my transfer back to the western suburbs.
I currently live in Aurora's Dupage county portion and we have our townhome for sale we are looking for a single family home in Plainfield or Montgomery to get the most house for our money. THe only thing is the taxes are going up because they are passing referendum's to build more schools both in Plainfield and Oswego.

Wow, I can't believe you think you would be risking your family by moving to Plainfield. While I don't live there, I don't think there's anything to worry about. The Chicago area has a huge Hispanic presence, in every corner of the metro area. Nobody will be shocked to see an Hispanic family moving into Plainfield.

Never said anything was wrong with them, Captain Assumption.
I wish I could alter history so they didnt win the WS, then I wouldnt have to see all these bandwagon jumpers come out of the woodwork. Sox fans were few and far between, then they win the WS, now fans are everywhere. Give me a break.

Cubs have no bandwagoners?? Oh come now. How quickly we forget. the Cubs were drawing about 8,000 per game in the 1970s and early 1980s. I remember games when less than 2,000 people would show and you could just walk into the bleachers for 5 bucks or whatever it was. It wasn't until Harry Carey came along in '83 with his beer 'n circus antics that the team became popular. Millions more bandwagoners jumped on during the late 1980s and 1990s as the blue collar Wrigleyville gentrified and became tony. Sosa's '98 season brought millions more "die hards" into the fold. So both teams have benefited from bandwagoning.
I've just two more words....Go Sox!!!!!
