I don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet, but Cingular doesn't exist anymore. It was absorbed by AT&T years ago. So I really doubt this is going to be a Cingular tower.

Especially since he's the guy interfering with the free market. Maybe "Cuba libre" is a closet Castro fan.

I can't wait for the poster to try to make an emergency call IF they get the tower stopped. I'll laugh my ass off if they can't get a signal on their cell phone.

ROTFLMAO....I take it ya'll aren't sharing brews every evening.
Does anybody know of any recourse I could take?
at least you'll have good service

Perhaps all new subdivisions are annexed to HW, but that is probably because the developer wants it to be.

You may think HW has some sort of authority, but I doubt there is anything they can really do about it, unless they do some backroom dealing at the County building in Waukegan.

Just because they have extraterritorial jurisdiction does not necessarily mean they have the power to stop this as-of-right development. If this project needed a special/conditional use permit, maybe HW would have more "power", but as-of-right development is really, almost impossible, to spot, without the County instituting a moratorium, which can be politically troublesome at best.

That's a really dumb way of looking at my problem.

You are absolutely no help to me whatsoever. Go dig a hole in the ground somewhere.

An even dumber way of looking at your problem is choosing to live in an unincorporated area and then complaining about the logical consequences of living in an unincorporated area. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. If you don't want cell phone towers in your neighbors' back yard, move somewhere where zoning forbids cell phone towers in your neighbors' yards. He gets his cell phone tower, you get a tower-free neighborhood, everyone gets what they want, problem solved.

Our property has been "in the family" for almost 40 years. I have spent my whole life here. We aren't exactly part of the "new generation" of mini van driving suburbanites who commute to work in Cook County every day. (We are not baahahaaa sheep)

You think I 'm the only one complaining? Everyone on the whole friggin raod has signs in their front yard, and I'm sure the guy has gotten some nasy letters from my neighbors.

As I said before, I think the issue has been settled. I don't need anymore help from you guys - not that you were any help in the first place.

MOD- Shut this thread down.

Can you not just invite him over for a steak and some beer and ask him not to?
