voter turnout for local elections
The voter turnout for the local elections on tuesday was pathetic! Out here in Kane County, it averaged only about 20%. our community fared a little better with around 25%. Did you vote? If not, why not? Just wondering...

It could have been worse: My precinct (mostly Democrats) in Lake View in Chicago (in Quigley's district no less) got about a 10% turnout. It is a shame.
Yes I voted.

My subsection of my township was between 30-40% (just gives a range). I'm in the very southeastern corner of Lake County. Here's a link to Lake County voter turnout by township numbers.

I voted. When I went to my polling place I was the only one there and the girl at the desk said it was very slow. I'm in the county seat of DuPage.

I'd say we were about 20%. I was the only one in my family that voted. [one is not registered, one was out of town, and i guess the other didnt care about this election]

Sorry, No Ballot for Me
Hello, I did not vote. Much of my family did though. That's because all of the candidates were democrat. I hate democrats ! I said nothing, spoke nothing because my entire family like many in Cook County (namely Hickory Hills) is democratic. They think that an all democrat government is good for the people . I beg to differ. Some of the worst areas in Cook County are democrat, trust me. Speaking of which, southeast suburbs and much of Chicago's south side strongly supported Barack Obama last November. By the way, there were a few republicans but I doubt they won. If only I could relocate elsewhere .
