Trouble is, you come across more as a bigot than as a truth-teller. To say the entire southland is incomparably bad to any other part of the region because its brimming with every ne'er-do-well of color in the county is an angry unfair generalization.
In the face of another poster's firsthand experience, you are going to tell them they are wrong, that they can't possibly think what they think because it doesn't mesh with your sweeping generalization?
There is plenty of blight in the south suburbs. But there are some good neighborhoods, people, and schools, and if posters with good info can steer people in the right direction, shouldn't they? I get the feeling you would prefer there were no posts allowed for neighborhoods south of Madison on this forum.

You can't say one thing, and then go on to say there is plenty of plight in the COOK COUNTY south burbs because you contradict yourself. The good neighborhoods, schools, and people of this region are far less in number than those of the northern or western parts. It's a fact, deal with it. The right direction is not anywhere in southern cook county, unless you have money and are rich. The only people who have a hard time dealing with this are people who live there. Go figure!
I never said the southern part was bad because of people of color. You said that! It is bad because of what I have said one thousand times on this forum. But some don't seem to get it because they would rather take the easy way out and play the race card.
The southern cook county burbs are the worst in the region because of all things undeniable. Things such as the crime, the blind eye its' residents turn to crime/criminals, the residents' lack of value in education, the residents' lack of respect for their property, themselves, or their neighbors, the broken families, the drugs, etc. That is why it is bad.
It's not my fault that one group happens to have more of these negative character traits than the other groups. Everyone can't be the best at everything. Instead of blaming others, maybe these types of people can point the finger at themselves and actually improve their quality of life but that won't happen because the standards of the southern COOK COUNTY burbs are much lower than the standards of the northern and far western burbs. It sucks, I wish it wasn't like that but it is. The police can step up but if people of these communities do not want to say what they saw or testify, the police can't do anything about the plights of these communities.
I apologize for my lack of tact, I just wish we could clean up the towns that need cleaning up. Cal City for one...

I am dealing with it. I am being honest about the problems as well as benefits.
I can get downtown fast, my kids have wonderful teachers, I live within my means, and I have some great neighbors.
I dislike that there are reportedly more home invasions and business closings, and that a lot of families do not value education.
Stating pros and cons is not contradicting yourself.

Hey, I just don't see why so many people having a hard time saying:
yes, the southern cook county burbs have more problems than the rest.
It's like saying the sky is blue.

By the way, this thread got really off topic. Homewood and Flossmoor, with Olympia Fields, are the best the southern cook county burbs have to offer.

It'll be a while before Homewood, and Flossmoor are in shambles. It's a great place to raise your family. H-F is still one of the best schools in the south suburb's and if H-F doesn't fit your standards Marian is a great private school. I think Orland Park would be more suitable if your concerned about race issues though.
That seems to be the main thing in Chicago and it's surrounding suburbs. Race. Chicago is one of the most segregated cities in the U.S. Racism is a sick sad reality for African Americans, and Hispanics in the Chicago and surrounding areas.

Even though Chicago is supposed to be Cosmo & liberal, it still have this race/segregation problem. It seem like most large cities in the Midwest have the segregation problem. The only minority group that get a pass from this is Asians.

Orland Park is diverse, as are Palos Park and Palos Heights - large Arab populations.
At some point, there won't be any place left to run.
