Niles, IL - working there; finding place to live
I have a job opportunity in Niles, IL, but I live in Rockford currently. My wife's family lives in Rockford.
We are in the process of selecting an area that is not too far from Rockford, but a reasonable commute to Niles.
On top of it, we want the whole shebang, we want a good area of schooling for our kids, a laid back and safe community; close to 90 and Trader Joes (bonus).
Any suggestions and feedback? We'll probably rent for a year, and then head down the road towards buying a home in the range of $250k to $300 range.
