There are lots of complexes in area of Dempster St and Elmhurst Rd (Rt 83). you have to drive around there, and chek out the conditions.
some look well-kept, others are run down and undesirable.
check out one of those FREE apartment Guide booklets that you see in exit vestibules of grocery stores. That will give you idea of the price ranges.
I lived in garden apt. for one year at this area, Mt Prospect. too far from work however, so moved to Prospect Heights. shorter commute.
LOTS of condos in Des Plaines, if you can afford.
Avoid Algonquin Rd and Dempster St intersection and area.
