I think the agent was interviewed on NPR the other day, nice PR for the listing. Pictures do not do much to show the condition of the non-public rooms. Kitchen looks dreadfully out of date. I suspect baths are worse...
A professional photographer would have used different exposures to highlight the outdoors, as it it too many shots 'end' at the windows and the whole point of that type house / site is to give the home owners a feeling of nature continuing right through the house. WHOOPS!!!
The price seems fairly attractive, give the shear size / uniqueness, but with current financing standards the only possible buyer is going to need one heckuva LARGE pile of dough.
BTW the lack of useful info from the "realtor.com" site is embarrassing. Listing the THREE nearest grade schools is a joke. Imbeciles obviously have been overpaid to make that function of the site COMPLETELY WORTHLESS...

The agent was on with John Williams of WGN yesterday as well. She's making the rounds. It's funny that people call it the Ferris Bueller house since it was really Cameron's house. I know that would be too convoluted to explain though! Interestingly, Tom Cruise's house in "Risky Business" is only a few blocks away from this one. They've done a good amount of work in the last few years, so it doesn't look quite the same as it did in 1980 whatever.
The pictures for the Ferris house aren't very good. You would think Sotheby's would have hired someone to take better shots.
The schools for the property are: Ravinia Elementary, Edgewood Middle, Highland Park High School.

Open secret: The "Sotheby's" name is well known and has a great ring for the 'high end' market, but their general structure and sales support is nothing to be proud of. Money for marketing and selection of photographers is something that is coming out of the listing agent's pocket. The vast majority of listing agents use "lowest cost" providers of everything...

As Ferris would say, "I highly recommend picking one up".
I think I'll pick it up as a second home at that price.

This home was designed by A. James Speyer-- a protege of Mies van der Rohe-- who was famous in his own right. It has only had one owner since it was built.
If I had the money to buy it, I'd leave the kitchen alone. It appears to have new counter tops as it is. Happily, it looks like they left the original cabinetry alone.
Here are some more/larger pictures. This is a beautifully designed home. I hope whoever purchases it has the sense not to muck it up too badly:
