Default Oak Lawn

Is this a good suburb? How long is it from the Loop area by train? How are the schools, crime rate, housing, etc?

Thanks in advance,
Jig

LOVED Oak Lawn...commuted there from the station on 53rd street. One of my best friends still lives there. Nothing bad to say about Oak Lawn at all...I lived near 95th and Cicero (there's a White Castle there) ....near the LIbrary and right across the street from the Metra Station. It took, if I remember correctly, on 20min or less into the train station. I'd live there again in the same house...the only reason why I left is because my work took me elsewhere. Good ole hard workin' people in my neighborhood...they like the Sox down there and read the times....I have a mug that says "The people up north don't know how to do it" (Northern suburbs, that is). Ironically, I grew up there....HOW BOUT THEM CUBBIES?!?!?!?

Thanks for the info. I have a job interview in the area at the end of the month. Hope I can still be a Cubs fan though
