Eusibius2 will become famous soon enoughEusibius2 will become famous soon enough
I heard they can only ticket the owner of the vehicle, since 'they' have no way of proving who was driving the vehicle (they do not have positive ID of the driver - for example: just because I look like my dad or my twin brother, doesn't mean that either of them were driving my car). In light of that, there's no record further than just getting a ticket. Has anyone seen any more repercussions other than the ticket? As in, has anyone seen it go on their record or have their auto insurance reflect the ticket???

BTW - I've seen very similar questions posted to other boards (ie: is it legl if I _____ and don't get caught?). Just because you don't get caught, doesn't mean it's legal or that you should get away with it. OP - you still turned against the direction of a traffic signal. I'm not a law enforcer by any means, but I don't remember seeing on my drivers exam that turning left on a two way street with a red left turn light. Sounds like you know your own answer, really.

Anyway - if you're ever interested, you can look at similar questions here, here and here:

Thanks for your reply, Irish Setter Girl. I think I'll probably just pay this dumb thing.

I have another friend who does live in Westchester. Seriously, she knows a lot of people in town and has a connection/associate in the Westcheter Police Department. She did almost the exact same thing as me (just paused a second before turning on red, not a full 3-second dead stop) and got one of these camera tickets. With it being on video even her cop connection couldn't get her off, and she had to pay it. Unfortunately, I think it's not worth my effort, not to mention my lost pay with time off of work -- that would make it cost me even more money.

I agree with you, just pay it and move on. Everytime I enter one of these intersections I stop for a good 10 sec. behind the white line and then move up to turn right. Last night I had a guy behind me honking because I took too long to turn right but it is not worth the $100 because some guy behind me needs to turn NOW.
