Flooded is on a distinguished road
Default Flooded in Elk Grove

I have lived in Elk Grove for over 5 years, and since October 2006 I have had inches of standing water in my backyard. The water has been so high I have ducks that now use it as a pond, I have algae growing all over it and have taken pictures to the Village repeatedly (as well as called).

The Village FINALLY has "spoken" however, they said that due to overland flow it is my responsiblity financially to fix. I have an appointment with them today to see their proposed plan. As well as to get all my questions answered! How can this be, what has changed in my area to make my backyard a mud pit and why is it my responsibility? (are some of my many questions)

I am beyond frustrated at this point. If anyone has any great suggestions, ideas, information or sites that I can visit to increase my knowledge that would be great! I believe I am in for a long haul on this nightmare (not that it hasn't been already)
