Does anyone know how much credit-- in terms of years teaching service--a teacher from Chicago Public Schools will receive in Chicago suburban schools? I've taught 8 years in Chicago, will I receive any credit for my experience with regards to salary, or lane placement?
Thanks for any information!

Completely up to the the policy of the district you might move to -- TRS is the statewide system that is SEPARATE from CTPF --

Totally up to the district and how difficulty the position is to fill. You will always carry your years with TRS, however.

There aren't very many teaching jobs in the suburbs. I know Evanston, Wilmette, Winnetka, and Glencoe have seen sharp declines in enrollment.
