Default Need help with apartments near blue line.

Hi there,

I currently live in Schaumburg going to the Art Institute and frankly, I don't like the location. I like to go into the city often and I feel that taking the L train is more convenient than taking the metra. I am looking for a 2 bedroom apartment within walking, or very short driving distance from the blue line CTA. We need the rent to be under 1100 dollars. We both have to drive in to Schaumburg (woodfield mall) two or three times a week. We would like to be as close to Schaumburg as possible and still live near a Blue Line station.

Is there anything you guys can recommend?

Thanks a lot.

ab.

Look for places near the Harlem and Cumberland stations on the O'Hare branch. Traffic on the Kennedy always flows well from Harlem onward, even at the height of rush hour. (Not always the case for inbound traffic though). The outbound commute would be about 25 minutes by car door-to-door. You may have slim pickin's though since there's a preponderance of SFHs in those areas. There are some apartments right on Cumberland itself though. If you can't find anything out there, come in one stop closer, aka Jefferson Park. Lots more apartments there, but you'll encounter at least some traffic backups on the way out to Schaumburg if you leave during standard commute hours.
