Lakewood Falls In Plainfield, IL - Opinions (Chicago, Downers Grove: foreclosure, houses)

Can anybody give me some opinions/reviews of this area. I'm looking to buy and a few places in there are appealing, however some of the neighborhoods in this area seem suspect. Some areas the places seem run down and the crowds on the street look a little tough but then on other blocks the neighborhood seems kept up, families and older folks on the street. I've been looking in the Downers Grove area however you get much more house for your money out there but I don't want to move to an area with problems, I've been told of gang activity in this area but again I'm not sure.

Any opinions from people who live there, once lived there or are also thinking of living there?

Yep, I've heard the same as you. We live about 5 or 10 minutes away from LWF and are actually looking to buy in Downers Grove too! I'd stay out that way if I could go back in time and change our decision. That's where we used to live. We came out here for the bigger, low priced houses a few years ago so you'll definitely get that out here, especially in this market. You'll be better off in a different subdivision though.
