Default Buffalo Grove Area: Which Cable/Phone/Internet Company to Use?

Hey guys,

I am going to be moving to Buffalo Grove at the end of this month (Aug 2009). I want to know your first hand information to help me pick the best cable/phone/internet company (since they all bundle the same together now-a-days).

I did my city-data forum research and understand that cities can influence the price and selection of these packages. What is it like in Buffalo Grove or nearby areas?

Why did you pick your current company:
Comcast?
U-verse?
WOW (Wide open west)?
Others?

Tell me about unique things:

Did you haggle a good deal? How?
Have you noticed any throttled download speeds?
Did you have a good/bad experience with customer service?
Have any helpful websites to use to compare packages, prices, customer satisfaction?

This topic has been asked before on city-data, and I have read them. I just want a more current topic to see if anything has changed and so you can give me any information to help me out! Thanks guys!

Well I had Comcast for about 22 days in Orland Park area (south). I then switched to Uverse and love it. I switched due to Uverse having better deals (no install fee, no contract, $200 cash back and new equipment). Towards the end though, Comcast was giving me some pretty amazing deals offering to cut my bill pretty much in half ($60 a month for all three services).

If you do go comcast call them around the last day and threaten to cancel (they have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee). And hey in the end I got a free month of cable out of them!
