I had WOW for years until my mother moved in with me and wanted AT and T because they had more channels. I really didn't want to get rid of WOW, so here are my impressions of both:

Pros of WOW--great customer service, will come out within a few days if you need them to check cable, etc. Prices never went up, I had about 75 channels which is all I needed--basic cable.

Cons of WOW- their equipment is so antiquated. I needed an additional wireless router as well as a huge modem that they supplied (but I think there ws a monthly charge). ALso, their DVR boxes look so huge and outdated compared to AT and T.

Pros of ATT--smaller equipment, DVRs for each tv, can watch a program recorded on one tv on any other tv in the house.

Cons of ATT--after initial 4 mos, my price kept creeping up every month. When I called to cancel, they lowered it for another 6 mos.

I have too many channels that are completely unnecessary, trashy, and/or fluff--to downgrade my cable would cost me just as much because then I have to start paying for the DVRs.

Bad customer service--I had a problem with my internet and they made me stay on the phone with them for about an hour total with 3 separate people, and told me that i would have to pay for them to come out if it wasn't their fault--very unprofessional. ALso, the installation process was a nightmare, bad modems ,equipment failure, which was horrible cuz I had a sickly mother who was watching tv 24/7.

I only really like AT and T for their small non-bulky, non-1990s equipment.

I have viatalk for my phone which is much cheaper and has nicer features than either AT and T or WOW.

Default Thank you!

This is just a quick note to thank those of you who responded to my "resurrected" WOW inquiry. I really appreciate your input. Thank you!

I have WOW cable only since we have corporate accounts for other technology. Anyway, if you have digital tuners in your TVs and do not rent (?) the WOW boxes, you'll need to get used to punching in channels like 64-26, 68-7, and so on. A minor irritation but I refuse to pay them anything more than what I already do. A channel guide can be found on their Web site.

DW had Comcast before we got married and she had a lot of problems with them and VERY poor customer service. I think "... despise those %$^$%" is how she refers to Comcast. LOL.
