Default Lake County---your favorite watering hole

Soooo I have been away for sometime now but am planning a triumphant return for early next year. Just thinking of all the fun I used to have at Cubby Bear North, Mickey Finns, Flatlanders and Emils. What are some of you Lake County-ers favorites places to grab a drink with friends after work? Has anything new opened up in the last year or so? Can't WAIT to move home!!!!

The Irish Mill on 60/83 by Diamond Lake got new owners a few years ago, and the place has really been spruced up. If you always drove on by, stop and check it out.

Interesting, most old schooler Millers say the new ownership has ruined it. I just remember the overwhelming smell of urine whenever I went in there.

Have you been in the Irish Mill since 2006? The bad odor is gone. It seems the plumbing had been done improperly at one time. The restrooms have been fixed up.

The only thing the new owners have done that I don't like is to bring in loud bands on some weekends, instead of always having more traditional music. The place is too small for loud music!

And if you are looking to eat, not all menu items are available all the time. However, the Friday fish dinner is still good.

I used to like Mickey's Michigan Inn by the powerhouse in Waukegan.

Last time I was there was probably right around 06...I'm glad to hear they fixed the plumbing, the stench was out of control in there years ago. I'll check it out for sure when I go home in the upcoming months, I did always like there dart boards. And I looooove Friday Fish Fry.

I heard the Annex down the street from the mill closed down. Same with Journeys End...BUMMER I liked their soup.

Is the Old Munich Inn still around, I recall the owner was German and served in the Kreigsmarine.
