I love Aldi!
I started shopping there about a month ago. It's small and the selection isn't great, but the prices are terrific. $1.49 for a gallon of milk? I'm told that it's from the same Dairy as Dean's milk, too, which costs twice as much.

I am lucky. the aldi is right across the street from jewel so it makes it easy to get what i need in one trip. this week, aldi has the bags of salad for only 49 cents. you cant beat that!!

I get my milk and fruit from Aldis . Its useful since America economy has sinked. The only thing is its a cheap store, so you have to pay for bags and bag your own groceries. Before, I used think Aldis was located in low income areas, but there popping up all over.

for the difference in the prices, I don't mind bagging my own. Plus, I have re-usable bags I take there. Now, more and more people are even taking re-usable bags to jewel. so that bag issue is really a non-issue.

It's a good place for your basic stuff, imho. We have 2 here in Joliet, but the one closer to my apartment is hit or miss. We've got a lot of crazies in the store, and some things are out of stock for some time. Other than that, I can't complain.

I love aldi, but you can't buy everything there. If you want a variety of produce, you have to go elsewhere. It is hit or miss on what you can get for selection as far as fruits and veggies. I was getting superior quality, grown in the usa watermelons this year.
their frozen veggies are very good. I like their "fit and active" lines of granola bars and the like. It is good for the staples and the stockup foods.
I have purchase some of their pre-made dinners, and some canned items. some good, some downright awful though. Salsa is good. Their chips are good.
I like their special purchases, I got ghiradelli brownie mixes there for $1.99 a box. Yum!
I was forced to shop there in college 20+ years ago and they were so terrible back then I vowed I would never shop there again unless I had to. Well last year I got laid off and we had to start shopping there. I was SO pleasantly surprised. I am definitely a convert. I recommend them to everyone.

I agree! I take my reusable bags no matter where I shop - Trader Joes, Ultra, Jewel, etc... Heck, I even took them to Home Depot the other day. So much easeir to sling a nice sack over my shoulder than to carry the plastic bags.
