Default need info on South Holland, IL

Hi there, I am thinking about moving to Illinois from Tennessee to go to school at South Suburban Community College for court reporting. I'm originally from Indiana so I am somewhat familiar with Illinois and the Chicago area, but it's been years since I've been there. Any info that you could give me on South Holland would be great. I can't seem to find a whole lot about it. Do you know whether SSCC is a good school?

Also, is Northbrook a nice area to live in? I may be working in that area if I do decide to make the move and would possibly live there and commute to South Holland (or does that sound like a crazy idea?).

My biggest concerns are safety, cleanliness, and having ample job opportunities, etc.

Thanks in advance!

The Northbrook/South Holland commute is a deal-breaker and all but impossible during non-midnight hours. Get yourself a map and take a good look. Too much congestion on the freeways.

I thought I was somehow able to edit my post, but I guess not. I found out that the classes I would be attending would actually be located in Oak Forest - not South Holland. So would it be crazy to live in Oak Brook and commute to Oak Forest?

If you can give me an idea of what Oak Forest is like, it would be appreciated. I went to Oak Brook years ago and remember it being a nice suburban area, but that's all I can remember.

I was just wondering how and why you keep jumping to all these different suburbs you say you can move to. The ones you have mentioned are all quite expensive.

I am looking into South Suburban Community College for their court reporting program, but I just found out that they offer those classes at a building they have in Oak Forest. I may work in Oak Brook because I'm a makeup artist and I know that they have a Neiman Marcus and a Nordstrom there. I don't know much about the areas other than that...and I don't believe I'm jumping around. I explained the situation in my previous post. Obviously, I'm coming here for information and so therefore I have no idea about the expense of these areas.

Deechee, you seem sort of judgmental and definitely unhelpful. No offense, but I'm coming here for help and advice. Obviously with that said, I don't have much knowledge on these areas. I've just started the process of looking into this school and I won't be moving for another 7-9 months. I'm just in the beginning stages of doing my homework on the areas.
