Quick Background:

22/Italian/Male
Born and raised in Elizabeth, NJ
Last two years in Wilkes Barre, PA.
Theres a possibility, nothing official, that I may get a job in the Deerfield/Buffalo Grove Area with my company.

I'm looking to spend no more then $800-900 Rent; preferably with utilities included; but that sounds like a long shot lol.

i have two small 5 lb dogs and hate how apartment complexes charge a deposit for the dogs that costs more then the rent itself

I'd like to be within 30-45 minutes of Deerfield/Buffalo Grove

The only area i've seen so far is Waukegan... But from reading one quick post -- many here aren't too fond of it? Why's that.

And what other suggestions do you have - if not Waukegan. i.e. Is Craigslist the way to go. or is there a better local source?

Look west from where you are, rather than north. Park Ridge/Des Plaines/Mount Prospect/Arlington Heights, that area. A lot of apartments around here are in complexes, so rent.com might help in addition to craigslist.

Your price range is reasonable for a 1 bedroom in a decent building, but chances you'll find utilities included (regardless of the price) are slim. Most landlords just don't do that around here.

Thank you for the advice!! I'll keep that in mind! I saw some apartments in Mount Prospect that looked pretty appealing.
