I am thinking about doing the Spirit of Chicago boat cruise for new years with another couple of ours. Has anyone here done that, is it worth it?

Our biggest worry is getting back to the Tinley park area. The boat has an open bar so driving is probably out. I hear taxi's are unreliable, limo services don't seem to want to return my calls and the train (even though its only 1 penny that night) is packed. Plus the train leaves me with the problem of getting from the station to my home and walking in January is probably not a good thing!

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a lot of fun! I would definitely do it, but I always spend holidays and such at home. You will enjoy yourself. Chicago is amazing at night, and especially on holdays!

Yikes. There are buses that can take you back to Tinley I believe. I am sure someone with more info is gonna post here.

I know for sure there is a bus that goes all the way down 183rd street to at least Homewood (haha, that's when I turned the corner and lost sight) so I believe there is at least one bus.

Here are some links, play around until you find something I guess?

The Metra is 1 penny on New Year's? I thought it was just a CTA thing.
