Relaxing with a hot cup of [wife brewed] coffee, a paper, and a relaxing 40 minute ride into work was the best commute I think I've had in any city I've worked in. The $100 / mo for a monthly pass was an amazing deal, too!

To all prospective residents, take a good look at Metra... it is the best way to commute ever!

I agree - I love Metra. If I worked downtown (or lived downtown and worked in the suburbs) I'd definitely commute that way.

I do the reverse commute from Oak Park to Geneva. I bring the paper, or my laptop, or ipod and relax all the way to work. I'd kill myself if I had to drive it.

when I lived in california I missed the metra...and was amazed that the suburbs did not have reliable train service to sacramento (I lived in the sac suburbs). I Thought that state was more pro-enviornment and would have worked out a great transportation system!! I loved california otherwise....truly I missed metra the most!
