Realtors violate federal law and risk lossing their license, huge fines and even prison if they respond to these types of questions, in the way that so many do.

Robbins Really Isnt As Bad As Everyone Thinks. I Was A Police Officer In Robbins In 2005 And 2006. At The Time, I Was The Only White Officer There. They Are Trying To Rebuild The Community And Sure, There Is Crime There. But There Is Crime Everywhere. The Incinerator Has Reopened....they Have A Gas Staion/car Wash, It May Not Be Much, But Its An Improvement. I Did Feel Bad For The People That Lived There Almost Their Entire Life, But I Think They Are Going To Be Happy With The Improvements. Its Easy For Everyone To Criticize And Talk Down A Town That Is Low Income And Has Higher Poverty Rates, But Not Everyone There Is Like That. And Even The People That Do Live In The Projects, Unfortunately Its The Best They Can Do. Its Better Than Living On The Streets. It Will Never Be An Industrial Town Again, Because Its Land Locked And Doesnt Have The Available Room. But You Give It A Few More Years, It Will Be Better. It Already Has Begun To Get Better. I Work In A Near By Police Department And It Has Improved Since I Last Worked There.

In 2004 alone City of Robbins (residents) earned me a gross of 5K, Phoenix 2K, Posen/Dixmoor 2k, those cities (which are black and similar to Robbins) amounted to 35% of 92K. When I stated that Robbins was 100% black, I did not intend it to mean, that black is bad..............black people do have better taste than white's when purchasing home electronics............back to the point.............Robbins is only the size of three complete McComick places, in less than ten years, every square foot of land will be triple in price.........Crestwood is chomping at the bit to acquire it, and other burbs as well..........

If I had the money right now, I would purchase any property in Robbins, from pulaski to three blocks east from south to north............................Why, I love large lots with lots of trees, and Robbins has that going for them.....

I retract the no hope comment its not that bad

PULASKI EAST THREE BLOCK IS STILL CRESTWOD.

And By The Way, Other "upper Class" Areas Have More Armed Robberies And Burlglaries Than Robbins Does. Im Sure Everyone Is Well Awake Of The Tinley Shooting. Thier Gas Stations Get Robbed Everyweek....does That Make Tinley Bad?

Default Suggestion for the town of Robbins...

One thing Robbins could do to improve safety is to get after ComEd and start reporting all the burned out street lights that are all over the place to ComEd. ComEd's lights are the ones attached to the wood utility poles. Last time I was driving through Robbins, I noticed many of the lights either turning on and off or were completely burned out. If that were my town and I was paying ComEd to repair those things through yearly dues, you better believe I would be on the phone with ComEd nearly everyday b_ _ _ hing. There is no excuse for ComEd to just neglect the area and let all their lights burn out like that. That is one measure the town could take that would not cost them a dime and would improve safety there and make out of towners feel more at ease when in the area.

Here is how to report the burned out lights. https://www.exeloncorp.com/ComEd/log...treetLight.asp

Unfortunately, that probably wouldn't matter. I have it on good authority that the thug drug dealers simply shoot them out as soon as they're replaced. The lights didn't just "burn out," to put it another way.

Brilliant logic.

Did you realize that more armed robberies and burglaries occur in nicer areas because that is where there is retail and people with money? Do you think the people committing these crimes live in the nicer, "upper class" areas?

I'd be willing to bet almost anything that the shooter in the Tinley murders is not from Tinley Park. Being a police officer, you should know that. It's more likely the person is from a different suburb - maybe even Robbins - based on the description.

And I'd also be willing to bet the people robbing the Tinley gas stations aren't from Tinley either.

You also forgot to mention that there really isn't much to rob in Robbins. LOL! I mean come on, who are you going to rob? Harold on the corner of 135th and Kedzie and take his change from washing people's windshields with his crumpled up newspapaers? Or the run down old liquor store in town? What are you going to walk out of there with? $500 max? Thats why the bad people go and rob areas like Tinley Park. Tinley has lots of.... MONEY!

The purpose of this board is NOT to try to revive towns that are down on their luck. It is to inform others of areas to go to and stay away from and tell the REAL truth about what an area is like. Sorry.
