Question Grayslake or Hainesville to Deerfield

Hello to everyone again, First I want to say thank you to everyone who replied to my last post.

After considering many things, we've narrowed down our search to a Grayslake/Hainseville townhome. It turns out we won't be staying long, so school district is no longer a big deal.

Does anyone know how long it would take to get to Deerfield from there? Advice on the best routes?

Also, are there any differences between Hainesville and Grayslake? The taxes in both areas look like they're going to kill us...

Not sure about the taxes. But if I were you, there is no way I would buy a townhouse since you will not be staying long. The Chicagoland housing market is almost DEAD. It could take you as much as a year to sell. TH's are not as popular in Lake Co as they are in others. Rent if at all possible.

Dch66,

If your stay is going to be short; I would recommend renting as well. It seems like selling a house or twnhse is slow for many states right now. A friend of our family house has been on the market since Nov '06.

Grayslake is a nice area for family but b/c these twns are so close that you could really pick any of these small little suburbs within the area and still have about the same commute to Deerfield. The way that we drive to Deerfield is we take Waukegan Rd. The traffic is typical to us and the commute time is approx 20-30min (closer to 20).
