Default South Elgin

Hi, can anyone tell me how the schools are in South Elgin and whether there is a synagogue in town? Also, is there public transportation to downtown and how long is the ride? Many, many thanks!!

You can pick up the metra train if you park in downtown elgin at the train station off route 31 (?) I think. Or pick up the metra in Geneva. Ride from there 1 hour on the train.
Can't say specifically for the schools, but I believe most of them are in district U-46, unless you are looking at some of the new SE developments that advertise "st. charles schools"... as some are, so those will be District 303. Which is a good district.
Synagogue? Can't help you there. But I do have a hebrew co-worker who lives in elgin, so I am assuming there is one close by there.

With reference to school districts, you're much better off in 303 than in U-46. You'll also pay more to live in a comparable home in the 303 district -- but you'll almost certainly get more for it when you sell too.
