I'm just gonna leave this alone. Tired of defending it.

I love that line of thought. Technically it's true. However, if you truly believe the odds of being caught in gang cross fire are equally the same in Wheaton and Englewood, or even Oak Lawn and Englewood, well good luck to you. Maybe you should send in your resume to Disney, you're clearly the happiest and most optimistic person on earth.

Deechee, I love that area in Mt. Greenwood and Beverly and I too defend it way too often.
You and me are probably coming from the same side of the tracks.

I love the southside as most people love the northside.
I do not live in Chicago but live in Tinley and travel all over the neighborhoods but Bev is one are i would move to in a heartbeat

I was referring to tonys comment about robo cop - still new on the boards and for some reason i have not quite gotton the hang of posting things in the proper order... sorry but i will eventually figure this out!
I was just being smart referring to robo cop weis who left the cpd a few weeks back.

No, I just try to remain optimistic. Never, ever give up hope. No, not to Disney, not my cup of tea.

This from yesterday:

"Shortly before 7 p.m., a 22-year-old man died after he was shot several times at a traffic stop in the 7400 block of South Vincennes Avenue, police said."

This is obviously a totally screwed up -- no way can someone say it amounts to "anything can happen anywhere". One of the things that jumps out at me most is how some people sort of accept it as somewhat normal.

Anyhow, you can see why someone might want to change their route to the city from e.g. beverly.

It's fine! After all, if you're not in a gang the bullets will magically miss you!
