Uh, no. Park Ridge is a nice older suburb, lots of older trees, nice downtown area. Schools are decent, but I don't know for sure about spec ed.

I agree with mdz, Park Ridge is a very nice suburb, older only because it is closer to Chicago than other far-flung towns. It is convenient to I-294. It is solidly middle-class with lots of nice older family homes in the 400K price range. Of course it also has some pricier neighborhoods, particularly the ones feeding into Maine South high school, which is a very good school (I don't know anything about the special ed though). Park Ridge's downtown area is really cute and tries for a small-town "Main Street" feel, with independent restaurants and shops. I think there is a brand new condo building being built downtown across the street from the library, which may be an option for you, depending on your needs.

My best suggestion is to drive through the area and see for yourself.

The person who posted first is confusing it with some other burb. Park Ridge has mansions and has always been considerate UPPER CRUST. I live near there now and lived there several years. Plenty of old people with money.

Email me if you want more info. Park Ridge residents are considered the rich folks for the most part.

Park Ridge is a nice burb, easy commute to the city.Great 'downtown'.Some beautiful old homes and neighborhoods. The "ghetto" comment was from a troll or someone who has never been to PR
