Didn't want to hijack the previous thread with my question.
My husband and I are going up to Wisconsin Friday, around 5 or 6 pm. I know 290 to Rockford is messed up. Is 88 to 39/90 better, less traffic going north on a Friday nite?

Thanks!

That sounds like the best route on a Friday night to Wisconsin. Most people I know that did the drive from anywhere in the Naperville/Auroura area actually used 88/39 route even before the 290 construction began.

Sounds like best option. 294 north is not bad BUT I-94 in WI is being redone. I-90 from 294 to Roselle is slow and 290 is bad even without construction because of the antiquated clover-leaf ramps onto I-90. I-355 to I-88 to I-39 seems to cut distance off of taking I-80 to I-39

What time did you leave and how was traffic north on I-355 and West on I-88?
