And now we have you to thank for helping them by resurrecting this erstwhile buried and dormant thread. Well done!

There was actually a story in the paper the other day(I don't know if you read the paper or not) that was talking about how the Chicago police have a disproportianate number of whites on the Force, relative to the population of Chicago. What was interesting (albeit not a surprise) was that the higher up in ranks, the more disproportianate the numbers turned out to be. Furthermore, your personal experiences do not negate the fact that we as a society need to continue to make head-way.

So Very Very True!
Your point really struck me while in the US Navy...I grew up in the Neighborhood of Oak Park Il. Home of the "we are all equal" type crazy liberal! Simular to the upper class neighborhoods not to far from base in San Diego Ca...while they advocate open borders and claim racism by the masses, they live in areas where the tax base is more than what most Americans make in a single year!! LOL..therefore they tend to live in a "imaginary" land where guns aren't needed, the lawn care is done by caucasions and CNN is the only news source. From all that rambling on..what I meant to say was the only non-whites they are exposed to are far differant than what the everyday person may be accustomed to...THATS NOT A BAD THING mind you, but they are still very differant life styles..Caucasion or not.
My best friends in this world are of every color, the differance is we make in one year what these "Bill Mahers" and "Michael Moore's" pay in their tax bill a month!!

^^^This remindes me of when my friend had an outburst while jim brewer was at the improv doing stand up. My buddy, drunk on scotch, stands up and says some line from half baked right in the middle of Brewer's routine. All Brewer can do is look at him and say, wooooooooww maaaaaaaaaaaan, i mean just woooooooooow maaaaan.

classism?

Isn't because I don't like the color of their skin, but I am a realist and realize that poor people have different lifestyles from those in upper brackets, and resort to different measures of obtaining money than the rest of us.
If you live in an upper middle to upper class area, you probably won't encounter racism. The racism you may encounter may come off as racist, but it is really what I call classism in disguise.

For me, I have a bias towards disrespectful and dirty people, perhaps a general disdain towards uncouth individuals. I have no problem with whites, blacks, mexicans, indians, chinese, polish, italians, whatever. As long as they have high standards for living, and by high standards I mean they show respect to those around them in their speech and mannerisms, they clean up themselves and keep their property in good repair, and they try to live in a manner that recognizes their actions affect others around them.
If I have bias on these traits, is that classist? I suppose the vast majority of the cases I encounter where someone doesn't have these characteristics involves lower class people, but I do encounter so called 'upper class' people who are the same and I do my best to avoid them as well.

Humanity will never evolve past violence, racism, and hatred. The best thing you can do is try to find a community of people who share your beliefs on life, regardless of race.

Yea I'd pretty much say you fall under the 'predjudiced' category...if you HAVE to ask. Simply mis-judging someone who does not share the same standard of living, mores/values, and customs has proven to be detrimental to our society.

police in hanover park racist
Make sure you have your **** together when driving thur Hanover Park.
They will run your plates, especially if you're Black or Hispanic.
Example: my daughter got pulled over for having a tiny air fresherner tangling from the rearview mirrow, racist cop said that was a distraction or something.
The stupid ass cop went out of his way (making a u-turn on a busy street)after noticing she was a black lady. The plates were valid and current. But it was unfortanate my daughter DL was suspended. Car got towed, she got arrested(with baby in car seat),extra fine $500 plus $200 or so towing cost. She works at taco bell and can not pay these. So car is Gone for good.(1996 ford).
I say **** the police.

Have a nice day.
