As a proud resident of Homer Glen, it concerns me that this website is still using the name Goodings Grove, even though the town has been named Homer Glen for almost a decade!
Please make the necessary corrections so Homer Glen can get the publicity it deserves.
This could be the subject of a new thread. Why do so many people refer to a place by its historical name? In Des Plaines there is a neighborhood that some still call Riverview. Green Oaks has taken over most of Rondout, but the name persists. In Highland Park, Fort Sheridan is still invoked, though it closed long ago. Perhaps Mundelein has had more names than any other place, and they are all on the Village Seal.
It's aggravating that I cannot get this resolved on this website. Homer Glen is an awesome town and I want others to know about it. It is a truly unique community with open spaces, equestrian trails, parks, and large wooded lots within close proximity to everything. Unfortunately, spreading the word is pretty tough when it isn't even listed under the correct name!
A few more obsolete names I thought of: Quentin Corners (Kildeer), Rosecrans (Wadsworth), Half Day (Vernon Hills), Ontarioville (Hanover Park). Anyone got some more? They have to be names that are still mistakenly used, not long-forgotten monikers like Niles Center (Skokie), or Shermerville (Northbrook).

There is a part of unincorporated Roselle that used to be called Keeneyville (Right by Mallard Lake)

Ford Heights used to be called East Chicago Heights.
University Park used to be called Park Forest South.
I had some friends in Keeneyville. Is it not called that anymore?
People from the area might still call it Keeneyville, but officially it is Roselle (Mailing addresses and everything). For example if you go to "USPS website -> Zip Code Lookup -> Find all cities in a zipcode" and type 60172 you get:
