So I've noticed a couple of earwigs crawling about the apartment this summer. Didn't think much of it until one crawled up onto my couch last night and, when I sat too close to it, the little bastard protested by digging into my leg with its asspincher. Anyone know how to get rid of these things short of calling an exterminator?

I'd rather have earwigs.

Oh Lordy! Drover you do not want those bugs bothering your children. The safest, fastest and moost effective method of removal is the exterminator. They have access to chemicals you cannot pirchase without a license. The only good news about the expense is the exterminator can also spray inside and out for spiders, wasps and common pests at the same time. It is looking like it is going to be a hot, wet, buggy summer.

currently having the same issues w/ earwigs, not to mention the casual house centipede that crosses our bathroom floor every week or so. I know the centipedes kill earwigs, but they're just too ghastly to look at so I kill them at first sight. currently spraying the perimeters of the rooms w/ Raid Killshot (which can be sprayed on surfaces and supposedly takes care of them. we'll see). we have a ton of pets in this building, so extermination may be tricky in terms of chemicals. IIRC, diaotametous (can never spell that word right!) earth or boric powder may work on earwigs

We've got them too. I've never seen them in our building until this year. There must be an earwig bumper crop this year or something!

Thought you would like this Drover, as you probably have plenty of the solution on hand.

How To Get Rid Of Slugs and Earwigs With Beer

Just refrain from drinking the whole thing and leave some strategically placed in your apt. Like maybe lined up around your couch.
